S.P. Read Esq: Chelsea v Man City

Our daily columnist and pundit S.P. Read Esq. looks ahead to Wednesday’s Premier League game between CHELSEA v MAN CITY and finds the best opportunities available on Star Spreads, the home of sports spread betting.

SPreadThere’re plenty of things I don’t understand in football but the Arsenal v Man City game at the weekend took the biscuit.

Both sides seemed to take their feet off the pedal with 20 minutes to go – as if they were happy to settle for a draw.

Yet the reality is that the draw was the one result that neither needed. If Man City had bothered for the win they would have closed the gap with Chelsea to nine points and had a huge opportunity to narrow it to six tonight which, after 30 games played, would have given themselves a great chance of shooting for the title.

As it stands, it remains Chelsea’s to lose but a Man City win tonight and a Spurs victory at Swansea could yet shake things up.

It’s been a great season for Chelsea but when they have come unstuck it’s been against the bigger clubs. Their only Premier League defeats of the season have been against Liverpool (at home), Arsenal (away), Spurs (away) and most recently at the weekend a 2-1 loss against Crystal Palace with incredibly all three goals in the match arriving in the first 11 minutes.

Chelsea won the reverse fixture 3-1 at the Etihad which was only City’s second win in 19 league and cup games away to Chelsea (D5, L12).

Chelsea head coach Antonio Conte said: “It’s normal that with 27 points available anything can happen in the league, but we are in a really good position.

“We haven’t had many days to prepare for this game but it’s the same for Man City. These teams have a clear identity.

“It won’t be easy because they are a very good team.”

Chelsea maybe without Victor Moses (toe injury) and City’s Bacary Sagna remains out through injury.

It’s a repeat of the Man City bet I did at the weekend (for a small profit on Star Spreads).

I’m buying the City win index at 11 with Star Spreads which will return an ‘insurance’ profit from a draw and a full 14 x stake if City can win.
