Chelsea have bounced back after defeats against Man City and inexplicably Crystal Palace and whilst hardly a crisis the champions are under pressure by the simple fact that Man City are just one draw away from having the perfect 10 from 10 record in the Premier League.

Bournemouth were hot favourites to be immediately relegated after winning promotion in 2015 but have defied their critics and beat Chelsea 1-0 at Stamford Bridge in their first season in the top flight.

Eddie Howe’s side though are looking very vulnerable at the moment with just two wins this season against Brighton and Stoke. They are remaining competitive in their games but simply not notching up enough points, a fact not lost on Chelsea’s head coach Antonio Conte who said: “Their position in the table is not right. They played very well in a lot of games but sometimes they were very unlucky.”

Bournemouth will be boosted by the expected return of Jermain Defoe who has missed their last two league and cup games with a hamstring injury. The same problem will see N’Golo Kante and Victor Moses miss the match for Chelsea.

Chelse are the champions after all and I’m not expecting them to turn a recent drama into a crisis. As such I am selling the time of their first goal at 41 minutes with Star Spreads in hope and expectation that they make a move early on the south coast.
