Sam Allardyce made a great start as manager of Everton but the honeymoon looks to be over.  Despite their 9th place in the table, they can hardly be considered ‘safe’ yet being just seven points off the relegation zone in a compact Premier League.

Everton are now five games without a win and have been knocked out of the FA Cup by Liverpool.

They are struggling against the better sides and Allardyce’s arrival coincided with a relatively easy run of fixtures which the Toffee’s took full advantage of.

Allardyce said: “I think the service provided in the final third is one of our weaknesses and why we’re not scoring enough goals.

“We don’t have enough natural goalscorers so we have to try and work on that without losing our defensive qualities.

“You’re all aware of our interest in Theo Walcott. If that can all be sorted out, which is difficult, then he’d be a great addition.”

Spurs are pushing hard for a Champions League spot and should again have too much class for Everton who haven’t beaten them in their last ten meetings.

They’ve certainly settled in well to Wembley now – currently on a 10 match unbeaten run with six wins and four draws and it’s short odds that Harry Kane gets the one goal he needs to equal Teddy Sheringham’s club record of 97 in the Premier League.

I’m a buyer of bookings at 39 with Star Spreads. Today’s ref is Craig Pawson who is averaging 41 so far this season and in the reverse fixture there were four yellows between this pair – so hopefully there is limited downside.
