His counterpart Jurgen Klopp is playing down the significance of City’s last two defeats in the context of tonight. He said: “No, I didn’t think anything like that.
“You have always the chance to respond and to strike back.
“When we lost here 5-0 at the beginning of the season, everybody saw the quality of City even when we were one man down.
“I am not interested in the favourites label.
“This is again a big test for both teams and I’m really interested to see how we cope with that.”
A key late fitness check on Mohamed Salah is clearly going to be a massive factor on the game. Salah has scored eight Champions League goals this season is recovering from a groin injury but did train with his team-mates yesterday.
