10 things we learnt this weekend….
Alan has 10 things to get off his chest after the weekend’s Premier League action.
1. Arsenal can’t stop winning. They look like the standout bet to me at the current prices (11/2 really?)
2. Chelsea should have held on to Lukaku. With 5 goals in 4 starts for Everton, what were Chelsea thinking letting this guy out on loan? Perhaps a January recall to Stamford Bridge beckons…
3. The S.A.S is unstoppable. With 14 goals between them in all competitions this year, what team wouldn’t love to have Suarez and Sturridge up front!
4. Southampton are not one-hit wonders. With a great season under their belt from last year, Southampton are really cementing themselves as a top 10 team (maybe even top 4…).
5. Lucky Gus has given Sunderland a chance of staying in the top division. With a great win over bitter rivals Newcastle, Sunderland notch their first win of the season.
6. Tottenham love referees. Spurs get their third 1-0 win via penalty of the nine games so far. Are they any good, or just getting a lot of luck so far?
7. Man City still can’t get the job done away from the City of Manchester Stadium. Only 4 points from a possible 15 on the road this year. Is that good enough to win a premiership? Not a 5/2 shot for me.
8. Jose Mourinho still knows how to steal the headlines. Jumping into the crowed after the 2-1 win over City, he again steals the attention from the players who actually won the match.
9. Manchester United ain’t done yet. Late goals from Rooney and Hernandez get a vital 3 points and maybe keep the wolves away from Sir David Moyes’s door… for now.
10. There’s a new jolly in town! Chelsea are now the 9/4 favourites for the premiership and rightfully so.
