Our daily columnist and pundit S.P.Read Esq. previews the match of the day which is, without doubt, GERMANY v PORTUGAL at 5pm…….

Unlucky, a little, yesterday.

I sold the time of the first goal with Star Spreads in the France v Honduras game and whilst I needed a first half goal I wasn’t expecting for it to arrive bang on 45 minutes šŸ™

That all translated to a loss of 22 points to the recommended stakes but the better news is that I’m 33 points up on the competition so far.

I’m still no further closer to figuring out who might go on to win the competition so far and it’s possible we haven’t even seen the winners yet !!

Germany and Portugal are on display for the first time tonight (5pm, LIVE ITV) in what should prove a fascinating clash at the Arena Fonte Nova in Salvador.

Both teams are odds-on to progress with the two outsiders in Group G, Ghana and USA fighting it out later.

The headlines for this match have all revolved around the participation of one Cristiano Ronaldo and my sauces (sources surely?, Ed) tell me the great man is likely to be in the starting 11 for Portugal.

He really does make ALL the difference for Portugal who look rather pedestrian in his absence.

Germany have also had their fair share of injury problems with striker Marco Reus ruled out through leaving veteran Miroslav Klose as their only recognised man up front.

It’s a head to head though that the Germans have edged over the years and may well do so again tonight

Plenty of markets to choose from at the home of sports spread betting, Star Spreads, and the market that appeals most hereĀ is bookings.

It’s my first foray into this market so far in the World CupĀ and most of the final make-ups have been lower than the market expected with the obvious exception of the France v Honduras match last night.

Star Spreads go 43-37 – don’t forget it’s 10 points for a yellow and 25 for a red and I’m tempted as a seller.
