Somewhat bizarrely the Sky cameras head to Ashton Gate tonight for the League One clash between Bristol City and Swindon. The Premier League battle between Aston Villa and QPR clearly deemed less entertaining !!
Bristol City currently top the league and have only failed to score once in their last 13 league games but face a tough task against a Swindon side who have a good record away from home this season (10 wins in 19 games) and won the reverse leg 1-0.
Swindon Town currently lie in fourth and look certain for a play-off spot but the chance for automatic promotion seems to be gone. Tonight, they are without suspended captain Nathan Thompson, who picked up his 10th booking of the season in Saturday’s 3-0 defeat against MK Dons, Ben Gladwin who has a tight hamstring and Mark Little who has a shoulder injury.
Swindon manager Mark Cooper said: “I think it is important that we play the game and not the occasion. We should not worry about the razzmatazz and hullabaloo around it. I think we have been doing okay, we won our last three matches before Saturday. We have been a little bit up and down but so have the teams around us. I am looking forward to our boys trying to bounce back after the disappointment of Saturday and trying pit our wits against the best team in the league.”
