S.P.Read Esq: Scotland v Germany

Our daily columnist and pundit S.P. Read Esq. looks ahead to the Euro 2016 qualifier between SCOTLAND v GERMANY and finds the best opportunities available on Star Spreads, the home of sports spread betting.

SPreadThe head to head records (below) between Scotland v Germany go back as far as 1929 but if you go back just as far as last Friday there can only be one winner on current form at Hampden Park tonight.

I thought Scotland were woeful against Georgia, losing 1-0 and not having a single shot on target.

Germany, on the other hand, were beginning to look a little more like their old selves with a 3-1 win over Poland and their first two goals scored inside the first 20 minutes.

Both managers have had the luxury of near full squads to choose from.

STARTING XI

Scotland
01 Marshall
02 Hutton
04 Martin
05 Hanley
03 Mulgrew
06 McArthur
08 Brown
15 Maloney
07 Morrison
10 Forrest
09 Fletcher

Germany
01 Neuer
14 Can
17 Boateng
05 Hummels
03 Hector
07 Schweinsteiger
18 Kroos
13 Müller
08 Özil
21 Gündogan
19 Götze

Germany’s manager Joachim Low said: “Coming to Hampden is a first as a player and a coach. I am greatly looking forward to being there with the unique atmosphere of not just the Scottish players but also the Scottish public, so we are all looking forward to the clash on Monday night. Scotland lost to Georgia but I don’t think that will do their fighting spirit and their passion any damage at all. The crowd will get behind the Scottish team as one man. In the table they have fallen behind Poland and Ireland somewhat so they will give everything they have got.”

Germany sit top of Group D with 16 points but are not there yet and very much have a job to complete.

A profit on the buy of bookings last night. Tonight I am keen on Germany striking early again as they did on Friday and I’m a seller of the first Germany goal at 42 minutes with Star Spreads.
