S.P.Read Esq: Tottenham Hotspur v Newcastle United

Our daily columnist and pundit S.P. Read Esq. looks ahead to the Premier League game on Sunday between SPURS v NEWCASTLE and finds the best opportunities available on Star Spreads, the home of sports spread betting.

SPreadNot the greatest tipping week for the column – until yesterday with Bournemouth’s superb win over Man U – as predicted with a sell of Man U supremacy !!

Three Premier League games today and in a wide-open Premier League season who’s to say Spurs can’t get right involved in the mix?

Certainly, you’d assume they’ll need to secure all three points against Newcastle to continue with any title ambitions and a win today would leave them in share of fourth with 29 points – hot on the heels of joint leaders Man City and Leicester who are on 32 points.

They are my idea of dark horses for the title, I’ve been impressed with Spurs so far this season.  On paper they have some easier looking games ahead of them over the Christmas period. After today it’s:

19 Dec Southampton (AWAY)
26 Dec Norwich (HOME)
28 Dec Watford (AWAY)

In January Spurs will also welcome Leicester to White Hart Lane twice in just four days for both their League and FA Cup game s!!

Newcastle’s surprise 2-0 defeat of Liverpool last weekend has taken some of the immediate pressure of Steve McClaren but that might not last long and Newcastle have still only won one game away from home so far this season. McClaren has no fresh injury problems and is expected to name an unchanged side.

Newcastle will take comfort from the fact that their last two league visits to White Hart Lane have resulted in wins but Spurs are flying this season and I’m expecting them to turn on the turbo boosters this afternoon.

Buying Tottenham supremacy at 1.55 looks about the right price on Star Spreads so I’m not gaining much edge there. I prefer the ‘3rd match goal’ market and in a match where I think there will be goals I’m a seller at 73 minutes with Star Spreads.
