S.P.Read Esq: Liverpool v Arsenal

Our daily columnist and pundit S.P. Read Esq. looks ahead to the Premier League game on Wednesday between LIVERPOOL v ARSENAL and finds the best opportunities available on Star Spreads, the home of sports spread betting.

SPreadSimply superb night of Premier League football ahead (see full fixtures below) and if any of them prove as exciting as Newcastle v Man U we’ll be in for a treat (and I certainly wasn’t expecting to write THAT this morning!).

Star Sports (FIXED ODDS) have a special market on who will be top of the Premier League come close of play tonight which is an interesting quandary in it’s own. They bet:

4/11 Arsenal
3/1 Man City

12/1 Leicester

(Should any of the three clubs involved in tonight’s matches have their games postponed or abandoned all bets will be voided. Star Sports’ decision is final)

All three teams are in action with Man City perhaps having the easiest task, on paper, with a home tie against Everton.

13jantopLiverpool v Arsenal was the right choice for BT to make in terms of box office appeal but I personally would have preferred Tottenham v Leicester. It’s an action replay of the match that finished 2-2 as recently as Sunday and is the second, but most important time, that they will clash in the space of just 10 days. Add to that the respective positions in the league table and it’s clearly going to be a pivotal game with a winner from the game likely to go on to be a serious title challenger.

Arsenal can of course keep them at bay with a draw or better at Anfield and the Gunners have a strong recent record against the Merseysiders having lost only two of their last 17 Premier League matches.

Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool have been battered recently by injury woes but there’s better news tonight with the return to fitness of Mamadou Sakho, Kolo Toure and the loan signing of Steven Caulker. In addition Jordan Henderson, Jordon Ibe and James Milner could all also be back.

Arsene Wenger rested Mesut Ozil and Per Mertesacker against Sunderland and is expected to recall them but Alexis Sanchez is not yet fit and Santi Cazorla, Francis Coquelin, Danny Welbeck and Jack Wilshere all remain out.

We’ll find out plenty tonight and for the bet I’m going to have a small play on Liverpool to get the win and open up the title challenge even wider. Arsenal are exceptional at home but have won only one of their last four away fixtures and Liverpool will be back fighting with a strengthened side.

Fighting could be the operative word – and a blood and thunder match is expected so I’m buying bookings at 45 with Star Spreads.
