S.P. Read Esq: Chelsea v Liverpool
Our daily columnist and pundit S.P. Read Esq. looks ahead to Friday’s Premier League match between CHELSEA v LIVERPOOL and finds the best opportunities available on Star Spreads, the home of sports spread betting.
I’m getting quite partial to these Friday night Premier League fixtures I must admit.
Especially when we get a blockbuster like tonight’s Chelsea v Liverpool (8pm SKY).
If it’s not for you, then take your pick between EastEnders (BBC1), Mastermind (BBC2) or Countrywise (ITV).
In contrast, Stamford Bridge is more west end than east end but a word to the wise, the masterminds at Star Sports (fixed odds) have priced this up at:
5/4 Chelsea
9/4 Liverpool
12/5 DRAW
That seems about right, given that Chelsea have started the season slightly better, have home advantage and will no doubt be anxious to erase the memory of last seasons corresponding fixture finishing 3-1 to Liverpool. That was despite Ramires firing the Blues into the lead after just four minutes.
Chelsea have only beaten Liverpool twice in the last nine league meetings at Stamford Bridge (W2, D3, L4).
Chelsea head coach Antonio Conte said: “David Luiz will play for the first time with us and we are confident about this.
“We expect him to play very well, with great attention. We know David is a good player and we are working to put him in the best condition to give us the best of him.
“I’m confident for him. He’s a good player and during the training sessions I have been seeing good things.”
Liverpool have had a solid start to the season – beating Champions Leicester 4-1 in their latest match and their incredible opening weekend 4-3 defeat of Arsenal at the Emirates.
Liverpool’s only defeat has been against newly promoted Burnley, proving they remain a Jekyll and Hyde side for punters.

Bookings looks a sell tonight – at 57. It’s clearly going to be a feisty game but referee Martin Atkinson hasn’t been too busy with the cards so far this season and will try and keep a lid on things,
