S.P. Read Esq: Liverpool v Chelsea

Our daily columnist and pundit S.P. Read Esq. looks ahead to Tuesday’s Premier League clash between LIVERPOOL v CHELSEA and finds the best opportunities available on Star Spreads, the home of sports spread betting.

SPreadDon’t get me wrong. Liverpool v Chelsea is massive. It just could have been ginormous if it was played on the 1 January rather than the 31st !!

The Liverpool hangover has now seen them win just one game in eight matches in 2017 and that came against Plymouth. The wheels have spectacularly come off Klopp’s side and given the irresistible form of Chelsea, who are 10 points clear of them BEFORE tonight’s match, it’s hard to summon up much enthusiasm for the home side.

Klopp said: “Losing three home games [in a row] feels less than average. But losing in three competitions is better than losing three in just one.

“I really think we should try everything to make the best of the base we made. Stay positive. It’s possible we could qualify for the Champions League.”

In any event Chelsea are unbeaten in their five trips to Anfield and Antonio Conte’s men are currently in the magical zone of scoring plenty of goals and conceding very few.

Conte has no fresh injury worries although Asmir Begovic and Branislav Ivanovic have both been linked with moves and may be late omissions from the squad.

Conte said: “Liverpool’s recent results are difficult to explain and I feel they have been unlucky.

“We have grown since our first meeting with Liverpool and we have improved a lot in terms of our identity and confidence.

“When you face teams of the same level it’s important to win for confidence, but the difficulty is high.”

It’s not just the recent results that turn me against Liverpool – it’s the lacklustre way they now look and I expect Chelsea to dominate and am a seller on the time of the first ‘blue’ goal at 53 minutes with Star Spreads.
