Sh*t Picks, Tic Flops, Puke Fest and Arrers Fun

4 from 14 on my NFL picks last week was a very poor effort indeed in each of 2 betting so I’ll put that system to bed for quite some time I think as it was really only a wind up of the rest of the office who seem to spend all week working out their NFL bets and at least it did pick the Superb Owl winner last year.

Now is a good time to return to an on-going feud with a colleague who insisted 1/33 Celtic for the SPL was the best value of all time at the start of the season. Well we are now a third of the way through the season so let’s see how far Celtic are clear of the chasing pack. What’s that? They are not actually in the lead surely that’s a mistake? No then they must have several games in hand? What only one? They are 2 points off the lead. Hardly “Frankel” never in danger of losing stuff. The ‘tic are away to 3rd place Aberdeen this weekend and a loss there could put them into 3rd place and even further off the lead. I realise all this crowing will be put in its place when they do win the SPL but I’m sure it won’t have been a comfortable ride for those who took the 1/33. This one will run and run until Celtic go 10 points clear if they ever do.

The diet has been going brilliantly this week as I caught a case of food poisoning with Vesuvius going on upstairs and down and have only had a couple of bowls of soup in the last 3 days. Given my normal calorie consumption I must be a good few thousand calories to the good. Maybe this is the kick-start the weight loss needs. It’s no fun when my XXXL T-shirts look like crop tops and your kids tap you on the tummy and say “is that made out of pies Dad?” It doesn’t help that I’ve discovered a programme called “Man versus Food” where a portly American goes round the eateries of the USA taking on various food eating challenges which I reckon I might have a shot at. Watching this just makes me peckish but it is class entertainment seeing this man’s tactics in the action; he always seems to leave the salad to last.

Took my archery lesson the other day and scored 44 out of 50 on my best set of 5 arrows; it wasn’t the best on the day but not bad. I’ll take up Olympic training when my little girl can come with me next year when she’s 8 and maybe we’ll have a crack at the doubles.

Anyway it’s been a bit a little bit of everything blog but I’ll say Tara as I’m off to try another tin of soup.
