Thursday Night Quick Pick

Tonight’s NFL game sees the free-falling Kansas City Chiefs visit the hapless San Diego Chargers.

This kind of game reminds me of one of those old wrestling gimmick matches, the “loser leaves town” match. In the territories, they would often blow off a feud by having the babyface (good guy) defeat the heel (bad guy) and send him packing to the next town.

Well whoever loses tonight might as well just pack their things and go the the CFL or the Arena League. If KC loses, they fall to 1 and 7 and their coach is going to be fired. If SD loses, they will have lost 4 games on the spin, the latest at home to an appalling divisional opponent.

Now with all that preamble out the way, I’m afraid I’m going to have to go all “Kevin Pullein” on you and say “no bet” tonight. By my maths the line should be SD by 8 and it’s hovering around a weak 9. So no NFL bet tonight and I woudn’t bother staying up to watch it either.
