Chelsea v Arsenal Preview
For a big game, and a London derby, the build-up to this game has been surprisingly low key.
Chelsea fans are too busy hating Rafa Benitez to make noise about anything else, while from our point of view we’ve had the twin distractions of Theo Walcott signing a new deal and the genuine excitement of Jack Wilshere still bubbling from Wednesday night.
I think both will start today, and it’ll be interesting to see where Wilshere is deployed. There’s some talk of Lukas Podolski being unwell, in which case I think the manager’s mind is made up for him. With that in mind I reckon we’ll see Cazorla shifting left and Wilshere playing in that central attacking midfield role again.
With that in mind, I’m tipping up Jack Wilshere as anytime goalscorer at 9/1. I just think that’s a big price for a player who is going to be at the fulcrum of all of Arsenal’s attacking play. It’s certainly worth a tenner for a player for who scored in Arsenal’s last game and is looking like he’s back to his best.
Another player I’m interested in for a big price anytime goalscorer is Branislav Ivanovic at 15/2. Arsenal are vulnerable at set-pieces and Ivanovic will more-than-likely be up there to stick his head on the end of a few crosses.
It doesn’t look like there’s much value regarding the even money you can get for Chelsea, or even the 3/1 you can get for Arsenal, so I wouldn’t be touching the match-markets.
Good luck on your anytime goalscorer bets!
