Good afternoon all.

And what a day – the launch of the new Star Spreads web site which I hope you agree looks terrific and brings a new dimension to spread betting with Star Spreads.

Over the coming weeks, my remit is to try and point you in the right direction of making some money on spread betting by sharing my own bets.

The opinions are all mine, not those of Star Spreads, so it’s strictly a case of do so at your own risk basis, or, for older readers, caveat emptor.

Hopefully we’ll have some fun along the way, explore some new ways of betting and try and find where the value lies.

I wasn’t quite expecting to be making my debut at the Matchroom Stadium, Leyton Orient tonight but that’s how the cookie has crumbled. And talking of cookies – I like them – so any donations in lieu of winning advice always welcome.

The play offs have their own set of rules, low scoring, nervous games and we saw that pattern repeat again last night with Fleetwood beating York 1-0 and QPR and Wigan 1-1 after 90 minutes.

The problem for punters is that the market knows that all too well – so it is well factored into the price.

Remember, with spread betting on Star Spreads we are simply making a call on a specific market – whether to go higher or lower. I like it because it pitches MY judgement against the Star Spreads traders.

Leyton Orient and Peterborough fought out a 1-1 draw in the first leg at London Road and also shared the honours during the regular season (away wins for both sides).

HEAD TO HEAD RECORD
(Max last 10 only)
 May 2014 Play-Off Peterborough  1-1  Leyton Orient
Feb 2014 League One Leyton Orient  1-2  Peterborough
Nov 2013 League One Peterborough  1-3  Leyton Orient
Apr 2011 League One Leyton Orient  2-1  Peterborough
Nov 2010 League One Peterborough  2-2  Leyton Orient
Mar 2009 League One Leyton Orient  2-3  Peterborough
Aug 2008 League One Peterborough  3-0  Leyton Orient
Apr 2006 League Two Leyton Orient  2-1  Peterborough
Nov 2005 League Two Peterborough  1-1  Leyton Orient
Oct 2002 League Trophy Leyton Orient  3-2  Peterborough

However, Orient have proved the better side overall this season and finished the season 12 points ahead of Peterborough. For my money they also edged the first leg, even though it ended 1-1.

The three popular markets on Star Spreads (prices subject to change) are superiority, total goals and corners.

Superiority is how many goals Leyton Orient will be ahead of Peterborough by after 90 minutes.Star Spreads say 0.45. I say more so for my first bet I am a BUYER at 0.45. A 1-0 win at full time would result in a very welcome profit of 0.55 points.

If it comes in it will be beginners luck you’ll cry, or the more faithful of you may send me a pack of cookies, or two.

RECOMMENDED BET (0-100 points)
10 points BUY Leyton Orient / Peterborough United at around 0.45 with Star Spreads.

Good luck
