Profit last night on the Derby v Chelsea game.

Bournemouth and Liverpool have only met five times since 1927 – all meetings have come in the FA Cup and two of those matches were replays. So not exactly much past form to go on.

One thing is certain, Bournemouth will go into this quarter final with nothing to lose and couldn’t have picked a better time to face Liverpool.

Bournemouth are unbeaten in 12 matches – a run which has taken them to the top of the Championship table – whilst Liverpool have only won two of their last 10.

Liverpool also have a big match on the horizon – a Premier League home game against Arsenal on Sunday.

Despite this, punters have been keen on Liverpool with Star Sports fixed odds and were an early market mover at lunchtime.

I REALLY can’t be backing Liverpool at short odds given their current shaky form. There are already murmurings of ‘Rodgers Out’ which will no doubt grow stronger if they exit the tournament tonight but that is a strong possibility. They have only scraped through the last two rounds and face an in-form Bournemouth side who will totally be up for the giant killing.

I say ‘giant-killing’ but there’s actually only 10 places between the two sides in the football pyramid!

Bournemouth boss Eddie Howe is expected to name his strongest possible side whilst Rodgers problems are compounded with Mario Balotelli and defender Glenn Johnson missing the tie with groin problems. The problems for Liverpool are obvious. A lack of a formidable attack

Bournemouth are very much in this and I fancy them to get some goals – I’m selling the time of their 2nd goal at 78 minutes with Star Spreads.
