How to Bet on Baseball
In this post on my betting blog I’m going to give youn five tipe to make money on baseball this season.
I’ll stick another blog up later today with my selections; today is just more general advice.
1. It’s a long season. The MLB season isn’t like the NFL (16 games) or even the NBA (82 games). It’s 162. It’s a marathon, not a sprint. Don’t get carried away with early-season results.
2. Don’t forget defence. It’s easy to focus on the hits and the homers. But defence is half the game.
3. Don’t believe the hype. It’s easy to get carried away with the pinstripes and the green monster and the ivy-covered walls of Wrigley. The glamour teams will always be too short.
4. Keep an eye on injuries. In a long season, players are always getting injured. A team might look a juicy price, but if they’re short a starting pitcher or two, be careful.
5. Bet the divisions. The post-season is a crap shoot. Look to the divisions for the best value bets.
