S.P. Read Esq: Man U v Man C

Our daily columnist and pundit S.P. Read Esq. looks ahead to Saturday’s Premier League match between MAN UNITED v MAN CITY and finds the best opportunities available on Star Spreads, the home of sports spread betting.

SPreadIt’s not exactly a bad resumption of the domestic action on Saturday.

The Old Firm Derby at midday between Celtic and Rangers and then, at 12.30pm, all eyes on Old Trafford for Man U v Man City. A double episode of Neighbours, if you like.

I think Celtic will beat Rangers easily – they are playing the better football and scoring plenty of goals whereas Rangers still look a little vulnerable for my money.

The Manchester derby is altogether more difficult to predict. Both sides have made excellent, unbeaten, starts to their new campaigns under their respective new managers.

The winners will head straight to the outright top of the embryonic table and preserve their 100% record before Chelsea bid to keep their winning start to the season away to Swansea on Sunday.

The team news favours the hosts. Luke Shaw and Henrikh Mkhitaryan have both recovered from minor injuries to be fit for the match and Antonio Valencia is also available after international duty.

Man City striker Sergio Aguero begins a three-game ban and they are likely to be again without captain Vincent Kompany who is close to a return after a thigh injury.

Master tactician Mourinho feels the absence of Aguero makes life harder. He said: “It’s more difficult [for us]. It looks a little bit of a contradiction, but without Aguero it is more difficult.

“When Aguero is available, we know that Aguero plays. We know their formation, we know their dynamics and nobody has doubts.

“They have so many options that for us in the preparation of the game, we have to go step by step, we have to go situation after situation because we try to reduce the unpredictability of the game, you know?”

It’s a close call in terms of the match winner but one thing looks certain. Referee Mark Clattenburg is sure to be busy and although bookings is set high – I think I’d rather be a BUYER than SELLER with Star Spreads.
